A Spiritual Community
Excerpt from "Cultivating the Mind of Love" by Thich Nhat Han
"If you have a supportive community, it’s easy to nourish your seeds of enlightenment. If you don’t have anyone who understands you, who encourages you in the practice of the living dharma [peace teachings], your desire to practice may wither. Your community—family, friends, and copractitioners—is the soil, and you are the seed. No matter how vigorous the seed is, if the soil does not provide nourishment, your seed will die. A good community is crucial for the practice [living a life of peace]."
A Spiritual Community:
Join us any Sunday at 1:00pm for our weekly community church gathering! Enjoy an insightful talk given by Rev. Alaric Hutchinson, experience an atmosphere of kindness and acceptance, and expect plenty of hearty laughter combined with wisdom on how to cultivate inner peace.
Disclaimer: There are no strings attached, you don't need to talk or interact, and you can quietly slip out when we conclude! We understand that it can be a bit uncomfortable trying something new, especially a Sunday community gathering. We offer no pressure and no expectation!
Time: 1:00pm - 2:15pm. Suggested donation $10-20. Please arrive about ten minutes early to take your shoes off and find a seat. It is recommended to bring a pen and journal to take notes (we call them #HotDamnNuggets!).
Important note: although we have a large expanded community, our Sunday space is a bit small and we generally have about 12-20 people join us each week. It is a single room with no other location to step out into, so unfortunately we are not equipped for babies, toddlers, or energetic children. Although we adore them and love having them attend our family community events, because we're also a meditation center we ask that parents be mindful and attend for themselves first before considering to bring any children.
